Tillthewheelsfalloff Posted November 5, 2018 Posted November 5, 2018 Hi. We're using Windows 10 1803 Education We're attempting to customize the Start Menu Tiles, done via import-startlayout. However, any links aren't copying across correctly. The Google link isn't showing up at all. Is there any other way to do this? Thank you.
sted Posted November 5, 2018 Posted November 5, 2018 iirc you best bet with links is to makea shortcut to your browser of choice with the url at the end so "c:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe" http://www.website.net
Tillthewheelsfalloff Posted November 5, 2018 Author Posted November 5, 2018 Thank you but sadly that seemed to break the Start Menu customization completely.

free780 Posted November 5, 2018 Posted November 5, 2018 When your creating the template you can create the links with Edge and send to Start within Edge. Then I think it will honour the default browser on an exported layout. 1
Tillthewheelsfalloff Posted November 7, 2018 Author Posted November 7, 2018 (edited) any good too you? Nope, the links still don't work. And to Free780, it's not so much the browser, it's that the links don't show up at all, or in some cases cause the start menu to go back to the default. Jaan Posted November 7, 2018 Posted November 7, 2018 Do you have a redirected start menu? if so, do you also have both the Ease of Access Center.lnk & a internet shortcut to https://www.google.co.uk? on the redirected start menu. if you don't, your tiles won't display. I found that if i used to tiles as shortcuts to my startmenu, they worked.
Tillthewheelsfalloff Posted November 7, 2018 Author Posted November 7, 2018 (edited) I do, however I've just got it to work. I did what Free780 said and got a link from Edge, thinking that it's not the browser that's the issue but I tried it anyway and within the exported XML file the URL link converts to: It currently just shows up as 'new tile' rather than a name of the website but I can deal with that for a moment. Thank you all!! Edited November 7, 2018 by Tillthewheelsfalloff 1
