Was just wondering if anyone can give me some advice with NSS. In the past we've used the remote deploy tool but with the large number of laptops this is now becoming time consuming turning them all on at once and is generally unwieldy.

Reading through the manual it says you can deploy with GPO by creating configured distribution copies. It asks for setup.exe, nsm.lic and client32.ini to be copied into a distribution folder. It then jumps to say run instcfg.exe /S on the distribution folder to customise the install, however it never asked you to copy this file in the first place.

Am I missing something glaringly obvious or are the instructions badly written?

No I agree georgebush, there's a step missing here. The instcfg.exe file has to come from somewhere.

A quick google and I found this. Even though it's for School, it should use the same switches (I would of thought).
