Need a new laptop - buy now or wait until sales?

I'm after a couple of laptops for home. One for my daughter's Christmas present and the other for myself. I've been looking online and the prices don't seem too bad at the moment but it got me thinking that maybe they will raise the prices soon ready to drop them for black Friday / cyber Monday.

I got caught out last Christmas when I bought a bike in the 'sales' only to find the same shop selling it for £20 less in August. So should I wait or go for it now?

I find that Black Friday/Cyber Monday is really good for electronics if and only if you're happy with last year's model. Generally the brand new stuff doesn't dip much at all, but 12-18 month old laptops and TV's are plentiful.

That being said, processors and GPU's haven't really got too much better in the past 18 months (okay, sure, the i9 is a thing now but that's about it) so 'last year's model' is probably still more than good enough.

They'll be special offers on soon ready for Christmas, then you'll have the boxing day sale offers and then you'll have the January Sale offers to choose from. Roll a dice or flip a coin!
