Except they can read and write your shared files, so ransomware is still a problem

IMO the endpoints are no less secure than those on the Curriculum network and (at least for us) all the heavy hitting anti-ransomware stuff is server-side anyway.

How would a flat network be any different then? It's the same AV on both networks. I'm not saying a split network is a good idea, i'm just saying if it ain't broke.
