does any one know how to save batt life on the lenovo r60 we have tried to reduce brightness

 

we was thinking about disabling one of the cores and also decreasing the power for the wireless

 

would hardware profiles work ??

I don't think that the R60 was ever really designed with battery life as a priority - it is the budget range of Thinkpads after all.

 

If it is bluetooth enabled, disable that and reduce the wifi too (pref. off but it isn't really practical). Monitor brightness at minimum but I'm not sure that disabling a core is a great idea - the power management of the CPU is pretty good anyway.

 

To increase runtime you could also get a high capacity battery (and I think they do a unit for the media bay too).
