Hi all

Just wondering what your future plans are in terms of IT? Our licencing agreement with MS (that guarantees us education pricing) expires May 2020 and I’m putting together a proposal to revamp our IT infrastructure to accommodate cloud licencing as much as I can..things I’m looking at:

a) How much will licencing increase if we do nothing to consolidate ? (when I was in corporate for example, a Windows Server licence was £500 each, edu prices were a fraction of that) I have heard overall ballpark of 40 percent increase to standard EES, and by 2013 MS will go full subscription with licencing.

b) What platforms have to stay on premise (SIMS? Finance package like Resource 32000? Papercut? A lot of cloud based solutions to these are either still in Beta or not developed)

c) What’s your timescales and are you even considering moving to Google platforms?

Be great if I can hear some of your views.

thanks as always

We have already moved lots to the Google Platform. 1/3 of our devices are now Chrome OS. We are trying to move as much as we can to the cloud however not everything is ready yet. We have purchased some new servers to replace old but they will probably be the last.
