So since Schools Broadband introduces their Layer2 upgrade the other day we have multiple customers who are getting very bad call quality on their SIP Trunks.

We have two customers who have a local hosted PBX (Yeastar to be precise) and another who is externally hosted but unsure with who.

NOC say it is due to the Layer2 upgrade but are unable to provide a fix now.

Just wondered if anyone else is having the same issue, or even better had it but then resolved it with NOC somehow

I am having similar issues, upgraded to sip trunks end of October and experiencing really poor call quality.

What connection are you on?

We have found this only affects our 100meg Leased Line customers.

of course. Following my PM I've already forwarded on to our team. As per my chat with our partner above I always recommend taking SIP connectivity from the same provider as your broadband. This gives sole responsibility to them for getting it fixed. Remember, the Internet is "the wild west" and we can't control time sensitive applications after the packet / call has left our network.

If you do SIP with us then we do end to end QOS all the way into our carriers. The calls don't even touch the Internet so this problem shouldn't happen if you have SIP direct with us and our connectivity.

Thanks

Dave
