Our head has requested a log of who has pressed the SIMS emergency alert button and when since the start of term. I cannot find anywhere this is recorded in SIMS. Has anyone been able to achieve this? Edited by Crashwolf

If the button is linked to one account - ie the messages all go to the same person, you can get a list of who sent them from the Tools>Manage Messages menu. If you have several staff set up to receive them, this won't work so well as no one member of staff will get all the alerts, unless they are logged on to SIMS all the time. It doesn't seem to be exposed anywhere in the reporting dictionary though.

I use this as a PowerShell script on the server where the user running the script has single sign-on into SIMS enabled

Import-Module *Sql*

$sqlQuery = "SELECT * FROM [sIMS].[sims].[alt_message] where subject = 'Assistance Urgently Required'"

Invoke-Sqlcmd -Query $sqlQuery -ServerInstance “MIS-Server\SIMS2016” -Database “SIMS" | Export-Csv D:\SIMS_Share\sims\Reports\EmergancyAlerts.csv

It only works if there is still a copy of the message in either the outbox or inbox of someone in SIMS.
