Afternoon Edugeekers!

I'm after some free/opensource software to scan the network for PC's with the updates/software/OS/licences/PC-Name etc on the PC's that are on the domain.

Does anyone know if something exists?

Thanks in advance.

I would really look at Spiceworks. http://www.spiceworks.com

It has full inventory, License management, Helpdesk, User Portal and all for free - you can even have OnPrem or Hosted

If you need any help setting up - I have done many a setup for them - and I could also find someone near you if you have issues.

Best thing is install on your pc first and try it - and if you like it then put it on any Windows server which has spare CPU cycles and good disks, or just leave on your machine

PDQ-Inventory only good for Windows - If any Linux / printers / Access Points / Routers etc you need something more - I would then lean towards Spiceworks (no I don't work for them :-) )
