Extenders no longer working. Flooding DHCP.

Hi,

We have been using wireless extender around the school for thing like boilers etc that need a wired connection but too far away to run to.

 

We just purchased two more form different brands and having the same issue with both.

 

Ive joined to the wireless network and can access from my computer using the dhcp address.

 

However, when i connect any of our windows 10 laptops though the wire the adapter in windows keeps disconnection and never receives an IP.

 

Connecting the extenders through wireless gives no DHCP either.

 

With the extenders plugged in and devices connected to them the DHCP server fills up with BAD ADDRESS accross the entire range in the scope.

 

Any ideas?

What make/models are you using?

Current one we have is the Netgear EX2700

before we tried the

TP-LINK TL-WA850RE

 

The TP links have always worked for us but they are older models.

Have you disabled IPv6 in Win 10?

Will give it a go.

Last try on friday and it seemed to be trying to use a ipv6 address.

 

Our dhcp doesn't have this setup.

 

Weird how it sends all the IPv4 addresses into BAD Addresses.

With ipv6 disabled it still did the reset thing about 10 times, it then found a ip it liked.

 

DHCP overwrite a few address that were in use by other computers and given out by dhcp with BAD ADDRESS.
