Photography students uploading pictures to Network - Advice please

Our Photography Students for their coursework are taking a number of pictures on their mobile phones and need to upload them to the network so they can edit them in lesson.

Teacher would like the easiest way of uploading these - which is by attaching phones to PC to upload, (or send them up to our office to upload!!!) I`ve told him this isn't possible and to upload these to Onedrive via their school email account and WIFIthen collect them from OD when on a school PC.

He doesn't want to do it this way and has asked for us to enable them to upload via phone cable.

 

Connecting phone to PC will bring its own issues such as viruses etc..

 

What does everyone else do in this situation?

We dont allow phones in lessons so they either use the school cameras in school or they sort out the pictures from phones/camera at home to bring into school.

We allow (more insist, actually) that students connect their phone to a PC on the network. We don't upload for them as its not always obvious (especially on an iPhone) which photo is which, so this leads to randomly opening up pictures, hoping to find the correct one and not a naked selfie.

IMHO - They should be using art department cameras, not their own mobile phones as they could accidentally upload *any* photo they've taken (this is a really bad idea, trust me).
