talksr Posted September 6, 2018 Posted September 6, 2018 Hi there, Getting so fed up with the constant Group Policy errors I keep getting. We have a server 2012 with Windows 10 clients. We updated the admx templates in our central store and now get constant policy errors. If anyone can help me with the following, I would be grateful. When I open the settings on some of our existing policies, I see the following: An error has occurred while collecting data for Administrative Templates. The following errors were encountered: Resource '$(string.Win7Only)' referenced in attribute displayName could not be found. File \\servername.domain.internal\SysVol\domain.local\Policies\PoliciyDefinitions\SearchOCR.admx, line 12, column 69. Can anyone help. Can't believe this is STILL an issue and Microsoft are not addressing it.
djm968 Posted September 6, 2018 Posted September 6, 2018 (edited) ADMX file permissions? Might also be worth copying the templates directly to the policy location(s) ..\sysvol\sysvol\domain.name\policy location Have you checked this post? http://www.edugeek.net/forums/windows-10/195833-administrative-templates-admx-windows-10-april-2018-update-1803-a.html Edited September 6, 2018 by djm968

Is 1803 still the most up to date version? I have put on, error seems to have gone for now, but I notice that under User Config>Administrative Templates> I am only seeing Microsoft Excel 2013, Word 2013 etc. How do I get the Office 2016 folders here?
3s-gtech Posted September 6, 2018 Posted September 6, 2018 If you're using the 1803 templates, SearchOCR.admx is malformed. Use an older version (like the 1511 file) or have a look at https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/cb97affb-9724-457b-a113-32cbd3d53331/searchocradmx-error-after-installing-win101803-admx-templates?forum=winserverGP
