[sims] Registering in classes other than form class

I have the timetable setup in Nova-T and it pulls through correctly into SIMS. Period 4 is marked in NovaT as a registration period, but in SIMS and in the SIMS teacher App, it only shows afternoon registration to the form teacher, not to the teacher who is actually teaching that class.

 

How do I tell SIMS that we want to take the afternoon register in the period 4 lessons and not in form groups?

you need to configure the option in the lesson monitor settings.

 

Tools : setups : Lesson Monitor Options : lesson monitor setup

 

In the panel you can define the timetable cycle periods that relate to the AM and PM sessions. You'll also need to tick the copy lesson mark to session option for PM.

We don't use Lesson Monitor, I think maybe I need to apply the timetable but it says

 

it is advised that you are confident that you need to run this process before proceeding - it could result in loss of Cover assignments and Lesson Marks. If in doubt please log a call for further guidance.

 

We don't have any cover assignements in SIMS so that's ok, are lesson marks different from the registration marks? We don't have marks for individual lessons but we do obviously have am and pm registration.

If you do not use lesson monitor, you can't map period 4 back to a statutory pm registration period. You need the lesson monitor setup options for that
