Lenovo ships first Windows on Arm device

Actually Windows on Snapdragon, and it's a Yoga device - https://www.theregister.co.uk/2018/08/31/hello_wos_windows_on_arm_now_has_a_price/

But check out the price! At approximately £850 (although they say cheaper devices will be on the way) for 25 hours battery life it's a hell of a trade off.

I can't wait to read the reviews of it though to see how it performs in the real world.

The HP Envy X2 was reviewed by thurrott.com back in March and suffice to say, it didn't go well.

 

That said, this new Lenovo device has a newer CPU so hopefully it's better.

Here's the actual review, and it's a bit strange that the reviewer seems to have forgotten about the existence of 32bit applications, and neglected to provide any benchmark results...

I was thinking that as well, but I don't think it will.

 

What I can see happening is a wave of cheap home computers that reuse a low-end chassis with a cut-down battery that can give 8-10 hours of run time for a few hundred quid...

 

I can also imagine a load of tablet devices too, surface home perhaps?

isnt that effectively the market chromebooks are aimed at? I know at home i rarely if ever use my laptop just my chromebook
