Anti-Virus for Macs

But Macs don't get viruses

 

Does anyone know a good AV solution for a handful of Macs (we have 8), ideally being able to monitor them remotely, being notified of any warning etc etc.

 

I know you can put Macs into SCCM but unsure if Windows Defender works with them?

 

We only have the 8 so the cheaper the better or even better freeeeeeeeee

There is a version of SCEP for the Mac (actually a rebadged version of the Mac ESET client) but annoyingly it can’t be centrally managed. However, you probably already have a license for it so it’s probably not worth spending any more money

Any AV is better than no AV, not sure how the legality works with using home products in an enterprise environment.

Sophos AV for Mac worked out at a bit under £5 per client per year in small quantities (30) with no additional cost for the Management console the last time we bought it a couple of years back on a 3 year sub. I don't know if the price has altered drastically since then.
