Olliesaurus Posted July 20, 2018 Posted July 20, 2018 Hi all, How are you all managing adverts in Google Chrome? Having an influx of resources having cheeky underwear adverts on and its becoming a bit of a problem, little hesitant to deploy Adblocker throughout the school and our County provided filtering obviously isn't blocking them either! Any hints or tips? Thanks
rogerdnixon Posted July 20, 2018 Posted July 20, 2018 If you use G suite - force them to sign into Chrome by group policy and then they won't get any ads in things like a Google search as G Suite accounts don't have adverts. If its other sites you can block by pushing an adblocker - so we push uBlock Origin.
Olliesaurus Posted July 23, 2018 Author Posted July 23, 2018 Thanks, looking into deploying these changes now!
MYK-IT Posted July 23, 2018 Posted July 23, 2018 This has been happening to a few users recently too, (unsavoury) pop up adverts in the bottom right area of Chrome browser. Was associated with Notifications Chrome > Settings > Advanced > Privacy and Security > Content Settings > Notifications - You'll find the suspect advert(s) under Allow (Either Remove or Block) This can also be centrally configured via Chrome ADMX
