Hello everyone!

Just wondering if you do anything special with your printer VLANs as printers are known for broadcasting, etc.

We have an issue with 14 identical printers where they go to sleep and don't wake up when a job is sent until they are hard power cycled. No firmware updates available.

I am certain that this is related to network traffic but am at a bit of a loss where to go with it! We have various VLANS set up and all has been well for years. We have suddenly over the past 9 months had this issue with these 14 machines.

Cheers, eddyc

I have a vague recollection of a similar issue a few years ago. We fixed it by deleting a reg key on the server.

On the server open regedit and go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Print\Printers\**Printer name**\ and then backup the CopyFiles key and then delete copyfiles. It should regenerate after a few minutes and the printer should start working again. That is if it's the same problem
