Text Ease Studio CT

Hi all,

 

One of my schools has Text Ease 2000, it dosnt support x64 machines so they are looking in to updating to Studio CT, however it seems like its end of life and is no longer sold anywhere (even though its still highly relevant to KS1 & 2 curriculum?) does anyone know if its available under GNU ? or id it time to look for alternatives?

We used Studio CT here but it gave us so many problems with the licence key being requested even though it had been when installed, just didn't work very well with Windows 10 and domain accounts. So I persuaded them that they should forget or move to an alternative.

At one time RM were pushing Softease online but this seems to have fallen by the wayside a long time ago.

They now just use Office.

The issue we have here with office is that it just isn't user friendly for most KS1 and some KS2 students, my IT coordinator really doesn't want to go down the office route. and after looking at the demo for Text ease Studio CT, I can compleatly see why!

I see your point but sometimes even they have to move on to the real world and that's what they have done here, hence the demise of programs like Talking First Word if they are desperate then a quick search has brought up this, https://www.softwareparadise.co.uk/products/Textease_Studio_CT.
