Quatermass Posted July 12, 2018 Posted July 12, 2018 Any recommendations? I'm aware of Nuance Power PDF Advanced, for example. We've used print/black out with marker/scan in the past but our overworked DPO was hoping for something more sophisticated and less time consuming...

TomFreeman Posted July 12, 2018 Posted July 12, 2018 Acrobat Pro does a great job if you have access to it +1 for Adobe Acrobat Pro We've used it for bulk export of emails to PST and then redacted content. 1
Marci Posted July 12, 2018 Posted July 12, 2018 (edited) Bear in mind the method of redaction. If you're drawing a black box over whatever you're redacting, and providing the file digitally, usually one can simply pop the PDF open in Illustrator (for instance), delete the black box, and unredact the document. If redacting digitally you need to literally delete the word / curves / characters (depending how the PDF was created determines which you'll need to delete) to ensure it's not retrievable. Or print it, and the re-scan it back to pdf. 1

Adobe Pro give you the option to remove the hidden details. 1
