howartp Posted July 9, 2018 Posted July 9, 2018 We had offsite training day on Friday, so had exams banging on the door at 11am. Summer release is out - install it now! No chance, i'll let other folk beta-test it first!
cw222 Posted July 11, 2018 Posted July 11, 2018 (edited) May apply this on Friday due to staff holiday dates! Edited July 11, 2018 by cw222
cw222 Posted July 18, 2018 Posted July 18, 2018 Applied on Friday - no major issues so far. Had to upgrade a few PCs manually and noticed automatic update on Database diagnose had been turned off.
quaium Posted September 7, 2018 Posted September 7, 2018 Quick question... I have already applied the SIMS Summer 2018 Full Release, I now need to apply the Workstation Patch 1 but can only see the option of the "SIMS Summer 2018 Release - Consolidated Workstation Patch 1" in Solus. If I deployed this would the full release be installed again or would the agent realise that the full release has already been installed and just apply the patch? Sorry if it's a stupid question, just new to all this. Thanks
CHU Posted September 7, 2018 Posted September 7, 2018 Hi, The patch is not a full install, release the patch and it will install Full release if not installed already and then SOLUS will apply the patch which takes a fraction of the time. CraigThanks. I thought that would be the case. Just got concerned when I expanded the scheduled deployment to see both the full summer release and the patch contained within the deployment. I'm guessing it's there because like you said if it comes across a machine without the full release it'll install that first and if it's there it'll just install the patch.
quaium Posted September 7, 2018 Posted September 7, 2018 So I applied the patch but for some reason the SIMS workstation update on the SIMS server keeps failing with the error "one or more errors have occurred". SOLUS tells me that an update is happening but it fails... Anyone have any ideas what could be going wrong?
CHU Posted September 8, 2018 Posted September 8, 2018 Hmmm, can you run the full installer manually on MIS server? I always have an issue where the Solus deployment service fails to install and have to manually do it on MIS. Not sure why this is happening, back in August when I applied the Summer Release everything went through OK... It's just applying the patch now.

There's no one else using Sims on the server, like a client open on another user or anything? I would try the Summer installer and see if that goes through ok and then let Solus try and patch again. Craig
TwistedHelixis Posted September 10, 2018 Posted September 10, 2018 Also try restarting the Solus deplyment service

quaium Posted September 10, 2018 Posted September 10, 2018 Also try restarting the Solus deplyment serviceOn the SIMS Server or the Solus Server?
TwistedHelixis Posted September 10, 2018 Posted September 10, 2018 We have both on the same server but would guess the Solus server
