itprogram354 Posted July 5, 2018 Posted July 5, 2018 Hello, I am a student and am wondering is there a free demo to download for SIMS .net with a secondary training dataset? I do not have a SIMS .net account but there are some SIMS demo logins. Any help would be fabulous and I do know you need to add server connections and all that Regards, Samuel
CAM Posted July 5, 2018 Posted July 5, 2018 The answer is no. Please see this thread: http://www.edugeek.net/forums/mis-systems/143975-fyi-questions-about-mis-security-workarounds.html Installers and patches from Capita cannot be supplied. We can help you with getting the knowledge to set things up but not give you any logins, datasets or anything else. 1
elsiegee40 Posted July 5, 2018 Posted July 5, 2018 And here is the official advice from the authorities - ie the Forum Moderators What you have been told already is correct @itprogram354 Nobody on this forum will give you something that is only available to those who pay for it. Capita’s materials are protected and anyone “giving you a copy” would be breaking their legal contract with the company. This forum is a professional forum and will remain that way.
nicholab Posted July 5, 2018 Posted July 5, 2018 So how is anyone supposed to learn how to use SIMS unless they have access to SIMS?
ZeroHour Posted July 5, 2018 Posted July 5, 2018 So how is anyone supposed to learn how to use SIMS unless they have access to SIMS? Sadly through official channels only really, aka school gives you access or a test setup or you speak to Capita about training. Its a little bit of a catch 22 but it's much the same way as a lot of enterprise/big software works.
elsiegee40 Posted July 5, 2018 Posted July 5, 2018 Students don’t have access to SIMS. Staff do. And only on properly licensed versions of software. If anyone wants a demo they go to Capita and ask and legitimate education settings will get it.
matt40k Posted July 5, 2018 Posted July 5, 2018 So how is anyone supposed to learn how to use SIMS unless they have access to SIMS? The same way they do in business. You learn it on the job. The only place you use SIMS is in a SIMS school. ...The only way to learn Sainsburys systems is working in Sainsburys... ...The only way to learn DirectLine systems is working at DirectLine... ...The only way to learn NatWest systems is working at NatWest.. The list goes on and on. Employers have the obligation to train staff, schools are no exception, in fact they should be champion it, education is their business after all!!
