Explorer closes when file is clicked to open

We have one PC whereby the teacher has file explorer open, she'll browse to her file (say a ppt) and click to open. The file opens with the correct program, but explorer closes.

She said this is annoying (although not a show stopper). She also says it used to do it several months ago but it fixed itself, until it started again last week.

 

Any ideas?

 

I am tempted to see if it fixes itself again. Probably a reimage over the summer hols, but it would be nice to know why it is happening.

have run run a sfc /scannow?

 

Explorer is crashing for whatever reason.

 

Otherwise i would get her to do it again, log the time and be looking through the event viewer.

If its only happening on this one pc with one user then it should be GPO or a hidden drive etc.
