wordy00 Posted June 29, 2018 Posted June 29, 2018 Hi All, One of my schools recently had a power cut. Since then the Ruckus ZoneDirector 1100 continuously boots into recovery mode. When I try to update the firmware it reports a "No storage connected" error. Looking around on Google it seems this model of ZD has serious issues if it experiences a loss of power with many units RMA'd.... Has anyone experienced this before and fixed it? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Net-Ctrl Posted June 29, 2018 Posted June 29, 2018 Some things to try: If you have an existing support contract: Contact your partner and they will be able to look to sort a replacement / fix the issue for you In Recovery Mode - format the disk and restore the FW to an old version and go through the step-upgrade to the version you were running. Go through RMA process with your provider If you have no support/warranty you could try the below, there's no guarantees this will fix it, but it has been successful in the past. Open up the unit. Inside you should see a compact flash drive. Take it out. Format this on a PC. Put it back in. Go in to rescue mode and go through the step FW upgrade. This method is a last resort option. Hope these help
mikkydoos Posted June 29, 2018 Posted June 29, 2018 I've got firmware 9.8.3.0.14 for an 1100 if any use to you. Not new but might get you going.
snagrat Posted June 29, 2018 Posted June 29, 2018 I’ve had this many times with these units and each time Ruckus replace it even when out of warranty. You do however need to return to them in Netherlands I believe it is. It’s also takes some time to get a replacement but if you can get your hands on a free temporary one you can be up and running very quickly agaib
