VAMT on SCCM Server

Hope this is in the right section.

 

Im starting to work towards virtualising all the servers/roles.

 

The only server that is vitualised at the moment is the SCCM server which will mean I can decommission the physical WSUS and MDT servers. Im just wondering if it would be a good idea to install VAMT on the SCCM server instead of setting up a VM just for VAMT?

Yep no reason to have a seperate server for KMS/VAMT at all really

Out of interest there isn't anything built into SCCM for KMS activation?

Not directly, we just have our KMS on it as it's the one-stop shop for pc builds/software etc

My SCCM server also hosts WSUS and KMS. Works very nicely.

What are your client OS's and office versions. I shut down KMS a couple years ago and setup active directory activation.

IIRC its win 8+ and Office 2013 + that support it.

As soon as a machine is jointed to the domain, it is activated.

All Windows 10 1803 and Office 2016.

 

I have Active Directory-Based Activation setup for Windows 10 and Office 2016 in VAMT. If I remember correctly you still need VAMT for Office 2016 Active Directory-Based Activation?
