southhamster Posted June 24, 2018 Posted June 24, 2018 Untested software update apparently.Maybe they got their mates in TSB to do the updates!
mikeprice Posted June 24, 2018 Posted June 24, 2018 Maybe they got their mates in TSB to do the updates! That's a bit harsh but I seem to remember having a Lloyds TSB credit card a while back - so maybe they still both use the same manuals
Garacesh Posted June 25, 2018 Posted June 25, 2018 Well wasn't that what caused TSB's issues? They split from the Lloyds group? Or was it the other way around?
FN-GM Posted June 25, 2018 Posted June 25, 2018 Well wasn't that what caused TSB's issues? They split from the Lloyds group? Or was it the other way around? It seems pretty common within banking. It happened with the Natwest / RBS a few years ago. I think its down to the way old legacy systems are linked to new. I know Natwest have a computer system from the 1980's running in the background.
psydii Posted June 25, 2018 Posted June 25, 2018 (edited) LlyodsTSB shed the team that merged the two banks systems back in 2006/7 as part of a cost cutting efficiency drive. Given the enforced merger with HBOS a year later, the loss of many of these people was... unfortunate. They then lost the CIO who managed HBOS systems merger, making sure the post bailout de-merger was one of the most complex programmes ever undertaken. Edited June 25, 2018 by psydii
