Hi

When a user using Outlook 2016 (msi version) attaches a file via the 'Browse web locations' option and that file is on Onedrive4Business and has a hash symbol in the filename or path it breaks. The attachment gets added to the email as a copy rather than a link (which is what we want) but it doesn't look like a file. The attached file is renamed and stripped of a file extension. the renaming is the portion of the folder or filename immediately prior to the hash symbol.

IE this file when attached

Looks like this

The recipient can download the file and rename it to add the file extension back on and it works fine.

We have special characters turned on in our Sharepoint settings so that files with these names can be uploaded. We use smoothwall as our filter but testing this bypassing smoothwall produces the same result.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Ivan
