I have a teacher who cannot connect their own personal laptop to our BYOD Network.

I've confirmed that the BYOD is working on our test laptop.

I've even taken a BELKIN USB wifi adapter and this also works on our test laptop but fails on his laptop, which is a 15.6" Series 3 Essential Notebook 500GB HDD NP300E5C !!! From 2011!

What else could be at play here that stops the laptop joining our BYOD?

The BYOD uses 802.1X with custom RADIUS - no splash page & Bridge mode: Make clients part of the LAN & Dual band operation (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz)

Totally lost at what to try next to get it working :( and both his internal wifi adapater and our Belkin give the same issue - you can see the Wifi SSID and attempt to connect - it prompts for AD credentials which are entered correctly and then it comes back:

Windows was unable to connect to.....

You may need to add the radius server certificate to the trusted certificates mmc snapin (machine, not user) before it will connect successfully.

Thanks, I think you're on to something with that....
