chazzy2501 Posted June 8, 2018 Posted June 8, 2018 ok, I'd installed the international English copy of windows 10 education 1803 using the media creation tool. This installed Windows with a generic key NOT a KMS key. I've never run into this issue before, can I place a KMS key on this image (syprep etc.) and when deployed will it still have a KMS key or revert?
Arthur Posted June 8, 2018 Posted June 8, 2018 IIRC, the Media Creation Tool downloads 'Retail' ISOs, not 'Volume' so when you install Windows 10 it won't activate through your KMS server. If you run slmgr.vbs -dli from the Command Prompt from within Windows, you will be able to see if this is the case. If you have access to VLSC, you can download the "English International" ISO from there. I just checked and it is there. 1
Arthur Posted June 8, 2018 Posted June 8, 2018 not for me? Do you get "English International" in the Language dropdown box? 1
Oaktech Posted June 8, 2018 Posted June 8, 2018 What version of 1803 - Enterprise? Edu? You should just be able to slmgr.vbs /IPK XXXX the appropriate kms key in... https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/get-started/kmsclientkeys
