Paxton Net2 exit button/control advice

Hello,

 

I've been asked to fit a Net2 door system, which is no problem, but it has been requested that a receptionist has access to a second push to exit button so that she can open the door for certain people without having to move. Does anyone know:

 

-Is it possible to connect a second push to exit button in parallel to the usual push to exit button - will the controller register to open the door?

-Can this be done in software where the receptionist can click some soft of obvious thing on screen on computer to open the door?

1) yes, just run another cable and wire it in to the door open terminals - we do this

 

2) yes there's an option in the net2 software to open a door, which is quite obvious - click on a door and press open door on the top bar - we also do this (You need to install paxtion in client mode on the PC)

If you can code there's a c# library and it would probably be trivial to create a door open button on the desktop

Absolutely, thats how all ours have been done. Its just doorbell wiring effectively.

 

You CAN do this in software, but the net2 client is a bit complex for most receptions, and the C++ client needs strange permissions, I did get it going some years ago, but we gave up. Door bell button works when the computer is turned off etc.

Thanks robk. I had seen the button in Net2, but was hoping there might be some sort of client that allowed for a very easy to use software button. Oh well, looks like a I need to do a silly cable run for the extra button!

There used to be a demo app, but it didnt store credentals, and needed admin access to net2..
