I'm setting up a new bunch of group policies ready for when we go to Windows 10, rather than tweaking my original ones. Now when I log on as a student the only mapped drive I can see is my home drive, "Computer" isn't visible, and if I click on the links which say "documents", "pictures", etc they say I can't due to restrictions in place. I can browse my home drive fine. I've obviously turned off something I shouldn't, but can't find it. Any thoughts please?

That may solve the "due to restrictions" message on pictures etc, but doesn't answer why I can't see my network drives. I assume I can't see them as "Computer" doesn't appear for me to expand and see them.

Do the links point to the same folders on the local drive? if so check if you are hiding/restricting drives in group policy

so you cannot actually open explorer?

Explorer opens, but there isn't a thing in it called "This PC". I have "Quick Access" and "Network". Of course, the network drives are listed under "This PC" so whilst they may be mapped (and I believe they are as I could see them before I made a bunch of changes) I can't get to them as I can't see "This PC".

Have you hidden all drives in explorer or clicked hide this drive in group policy preferences ?

Any reg keys been added?

Only hidden the C drive. No registry keys done at all. I try and keep away from them. I always feel they're messy, don't know why.....

So you have confirmed it definitely group policy that’s doing it ?

Yup, if I log on as a user who doesn't get that GP, all is fine.
