Blocking internet access on windows explorer

we have net op on our machines, and as we knew they would the kids have starting using windows explorer to gain access to the internet

 

how do i turn it off, ive looked in group policy and i cant seem to find it

Are you using the latest version of netop? Because I thought they fixed that a while ago.

There is a group policy setting which prevents them typing anything into the title bar at all.

It does mean that they will need to navigate to folders using explorer but as typing paths into the address bar is not really used that much I don't see this as a problem.

There is also a setting to hide the address bar completely

If your connection requires a proxy server and you've used GPO to define the proxy address create a second OU without proxy settings. Works well here.

 

NetOP has been replaced by a product called SchoolVue.

Under user settings/admin templates/windows components/windows explorer/Prevent access to these drives

 

It may not be of use to you as it also prevents double click on the drive(s) in question but we use it to prevent access to the local machines c drive and it seems to stop typing into the address bar as well

so now its school vue, do i get any discount or anyhting with me having netop? does any of you use school vue??
