Hi just wondered if anyone has come across this little annoying fault. We have several different versions of toshibs, but recenly, we have converted one to windows 7 to trial, and just formatted another to refresh an image. The problem is the wireless switch is turned on the light is one when it first starts and then it goes off. and to get it working again, i have to turn turn the switch off and on again to get the wirelss to work. Its very annoying and i cant for the life of me get it to do it automatically on its own! the other laptop, used to turn its own wireless on as soon as you turn it it on, but i have to wait for it to starting windows and then turn it on! any help with this would be great, ive never had any problems before with formatting etc, maybe i just tryt to format them again and see if they work?

yea no problem, there shouldnt be a reason why it wont work like we have said, but its not on the support list!! so just have to try!! il let you know how i get on!

another friend of mine has a spare 925, but has to post it etc, so wasnt going to bother if it wasnt going to work!! if like you said its the same thing but it a differnt name that il try it, i think these dont support VT or something thanks all for help

theres no bios update for the board, the cpu support list goes up to a 3.6 pentium d 960, but has no mention of any of the processors that end in the 5 as in the 925?? so im alittle stuck

Hi a few of the old machines have gone down that the primary out reach use, they were donated to us/ Anyway a few proccessors seem to have fried, so just wondered, if a pentium D 925 will work on ECS 945P-M3 motherboard now i know the slightly older ones do, the 920 and 930 but am unsure? can anyone help, they are same socket and same fsb??

it works fine on an external monitor!! ive not got an iverter that exactly the same, its from a toshiba with the same connections!but very slightly bigger, but it does the same so i dont really know what it could be?

ive tried to reset the connections and its still the same? could it be the inverter thats causing the problems?

ive tried that but still no success, it seems that the screen isnt going off, its the back light that goes off, so if i look closely enough i can see whats on the screen? ive just re formatting the laptop anyway, i know that it wont help, but does anyone know what the problem could be?

i have just tried the Fn F5 to switch displays, this makes the screen come back on but then after 5 seconds again it goes off, does this help you guys narrow things down?

Thanks for the reply. the model of the laptop is a toshiba tecra A2, im not sure about the graphics card if im honest. Ive not tried an external monitor, as when i do i hard reset to thurn the laptop off and turn it back on again you can see the ghosting of where it has got to. ve tried it in safe mode etx but still goes off. if it was the back light then it could constantly be dark, but like i have said the screen work ok for the first few seconds and then just goes dark. hope this helps thanks

Hi i wonder if anyone can help.i have a toshiba tecra laptop it was working fine, but now everytime i turn it on after 5 seconds the screen goes back.the laptop itself are working fine. i thought the problem may be the inverter but im not entirely sure does anyone have any idea on what to look for? thanks

hi just wondered if anyone knows of print management software, that can be used with terminal services!! we need to get something as kids have been going mad as late and wasting alof or resources. we are running a blade center with 8 blades and also have a few desktop machines that need to be included with the software thanks in advance

oh and can it be set up so that when the teacher clicks help, it already types the support email and sends the request straight to us?

Hi guys i was wondering if any of you use remote assisstance in it support, we are looking at this as you can chat to the teacher to find out the problem, at the mo we use vlc but cannot chat. The thing is ive not really used it before, is there any way if you placed a shuorcut on there desktop, that when clicked it would automatically send a request to us, and can it be set up so that they cant deny us access to control the laptop? hi guys i have a question to ask, when i try to load websites up that have asp/aspx they dont open up, at first i thought it was my machine but im part of a network and we get our interenet setting from one machine!!! does any one know why sites like this wont work http://burgessoffice.opweb.co.uk/logon.asp?bShowTitle=True and there is also the conjestion charge website doesnt work!! any one have any ideas?

Let me see if i can explain better. We are running terminal server and users profiles were not being deleted, and was taking up disc space. So we set it up that after they logged off it would delete the profile. so when they log on its like they get a new profile. Desktop Authority Seems to be working fine and that loads everything up, but then the internet explorer then loads the default user setting and wipes there internet settings (homepage etc) how can i set it up so that explorer isnt setting up the default policy and wiping the setting?

When a users Creates a new profile on a terminal server, the internet defaults its home page to msn! even though its been set up to our own intranet page also when people are logged on they get the internet security configuration pop up even though its turned off!!how do i turn it off the users explorer icon is also being replaced with a no add ons shortcut. how can i solve these problems Do i login as default user and set there homepage to our intranet? many thanks

HI we are running mainly thin clients and we use dektop authority to map printers to terminals and staff etc, but we have several different departments each with there own budget and printer. but the problem is as there ink runs out they are sending work to other departments printers, which is cusing abit of confilct as its the saem department all the time that dont want to buy ink how can i make sure that student/staff only get the printer in the room they are in. they are mapped to be removed on log off so when they log on in another room they shouldnt be able to print to another department but hey are help please

can anyone help me set up a printer on my thin client its runs via citrix over terminal services? i just cant seem to get them to work when i connect them via usb it say error unreconised usb driver etc need help urgently
