Hi I have two VM that need to vacate the LUN they are using but I don't have enough space this is so I can grow two other LUN's. So I am trying to move them to a host with enough local space. Currently they keep failing this storage migration what do I need to do to make it work.

This is on hyper-v 2012 (not R2).

I have used the inbuilt quick migration in Veeam recently to get a VM from a host with space issues to another host after vmware refused to move it or export it off because of space issues, it worked fine and flawlessly, though it did take its time (host was a very low specced machine I had to use in an emergency at the time)

I am not sure if Veeam offers you that option on the hyper-v side, but its worth looking (thats assuming you use Veeam as well though)

Grrrr sorted forgot that I had 1TB unallocated on storage so I grown the LUNs and restored the machine to the original location. I may yet move stuff round but it less of a pressing issue now.
