Promethean ActivPanel display settings issue

Hi,

 

We have started to see an issue with our ActivPanels, both standard and 4K where the computer will change display settings and stop displaying on the AvtivPanel. Out desktops are set to clone the display, Monitor plugged in with VGA and Activpanel with HMDI. This is happening on many different models of PC with different graphics chipsets. Teachers mostly say that it happens when they ESC a power point, it's doesn't happen if the Alt + Tab to another window from the presentation though. I have read some other posts about the but none that offered a solution, and have struggled to find where the firmware version is displayed on the TV itself.

 

Any offerings to stop me pulling my hair out!

Are you using Office 2016? Once you are in full screen mode in 2016 and your machine is set to duplicate when you come out of the powerpoint the display reverts back to extended. It doesn't turn off it just extends if you were too move the mouse to the far left or right it would display on the projector. The only fix I have found is to use presenter mode in Powerpoint. It's under the Slide Show tab.

You can force Powerpoint 2016 to not use the presenter mode via GPO, and so far on our 3 ActivPanel v6's we've not had it go into extended mode, but stays happily in clone/duplicate.

 

We are running Windows 10 on those stations though with DisplayPort -> HDMI for the panel and VGA for the local monitor

Ahh we never forced it, staff got used to Presenter mode and started to like it. That might be worth a try.

I have exactly the same issue with CTouch screeens and Powerpoint 2016. It's driving teachers mad but I'll see about disabling Presenter mode.

Same issue here, we only started to have problems after we did an upgrade to Win 10 / Office 2016. Evidence suggests it is a policy from an ADMX template in Powerpoint 2016 - 'Do not allow PPoint to automatically extend display' - however when we have changed this for all users, the issue does persist in some rooms. Has anybody been able to fully resolve this? We have standard monitors and Clevertouch, VGA to monitor on teacher desk and HDMI to Clevertouch. Are people saying that enabling 'presenter mode' does in fact fix this issue?

I still have teachers struggling with this. I've come to the conclusion that we're trying to solve the wrong problem - they expect a brand new CTouch to behave just a projector connected using a VGA splitter and it just doesn't work like that. So I'm trying to educate them to use Presenter Mode but it's easier said than done...
