Conundrum we currently face after moving to the Ricoh printing system managed by papercut....

HOD doesnt want her staff been able to print in colour to a MFD/printer/photocopier

I have set up the department printer to have 2 queues, mono and colour however that doesnt stop a user printing to the virtual queue and releasing it and it coming out in colour there.

or if the user goes to a ICT classroom and presses print there.

So, is it possible to restrict users so their print outs only come out in greyscale?

Its a setting on the printer rather than the user for this i think. On the printer 'Filters & Restrictions' tab there is a section where you can force colour jobs to convert to grayscale for certain security groups.

You can copy settings from one printer to another but i would test this with one printer before you set on all printers!! I have messed something up doing exactly this in the past!
