gmj Posted April 19, 2018 Posted April 19, 2018 Hi All. I have downloaded the trial version of MixCraft 8.1 with aims of our media dept using it. However, when installed onto a network station, it will not run. Starts, but after clicking OK on the welcome screen an error will pop up "Can't open database: cannot create database". When I click OK here another message is displayed saying that a fatal error was encountered and the program closes. Has anyone else experienced this and if so how do you resolve it? Thanks, gmj
SHimmer45 Posted April 19, 2018 Posted April 19, 2018 does the software require a database backend to function. we have a very old version of mixcraft and that runs standalone on each machine, but it wouldnt surprise me if the newer one required some kind of database to manage music samples or people using it. Or is it looking for a license server?
ITGuyNW Posted April 19, 2018 Posted April 19, 2018 Mixcraft works very well on our network, copes with roaming profiles without any bother but I did have to install it individually. There are some instructions that came with it for network installs but whenever I deployed it, it simply never installed.
gmj Posted May 3, 2018 Author Posted May 3, 2018 Think the problem is being caused when the Mixcraft is trying to write to the users Appdata folder on the server. Grrr. Will continue to play.
