kidpressingbuttons Posted April 13, 2018 Posted April 13, 2018 Have set up scan to home folder on papercut for all my copiers- but the copiers do not have permission to access those folders. What permissions do I need to set?
Mark182 Posted April 13, 2018 Posted April 13, 2018 The account needs rights on the file server it is scanning to.
kidpressingbuttons Posted April 13, 2018 Author Posted April 13, 2018 which account? the account they logging into the mfd with?
gds64 Posted April 13, 2018 Posted April 13, 2018 With Sharp devices using integrated scanning, it's the PaperCut Application Server service account that writes the file to the remote directories. The service account will need rights accordingly. This may be a different process for other manufacturers devices.
MatthewL Posted April 13, 2018 Posted April 13, 2018 I usually create a domain user, give it admin rights to the print server and file servers, then set the PaperCut application service to run as this account and its this account that writes to the location. I have also found out this week when scanning to a network folder, if the person logged into the copier and scans, as long as they have access to said folder it will also write to it too but not tried it myself.
