G Suite Youtube Content Restrictions Not Applying

Anyone else experiencing issues with G Suite not applying YouTube content restrictions that have been set in the Admin Console?

Have noticed an issue where videos that have not been approved are available to those that have strict access enabled. Also same videos are still shown when a user is not logged in to Youtube even though DNS is setup to force strict access for users that are not signed in.

Do you allow staff to approve videos? If you do, it might be worth checking the Classroom Teacher group to see if that pupil account is on there or even on the pending list.

 

Also, check content and permissions settings in the Google Admin console under the youtube app. See if the restrictions are applied to the correct OUs.

Yes, but if any pupils were a member of Classroom Teachers, they would see the blue bar.

 

Admin console settings are fine also. Has been working for the past 18 months as intended, just started happening recently. Seems I'm not the only one.

I'm seeing the same. Is there a way to check if a video is flagged as inappropriate and should be restricted?

Previously if it wasn't approved then it would be restricted. Some videos still get blocked but a lot that should don't.
