[Chromebook] - Internal mic not working with google "search by Voice".

How do I get my chrome book internal mic working with google "search by voice"?

 

I have a XMA Viglen chromebook 11 running the latest version of Chrome OS, with an internal mic. I try doing a google search by voice, the "speak now/listening..." appear and the red mic icon pulses, however it doesn't seem to interpret my speech and perform a search. I get no messages or prompts it just returns to the google homepage.

I've also tried getting this to work with a USB headset and mic with no success. I've made sure that both mic's were allowed for google in the mic permissions, however it still doesn't seem to interpret the speech.

Finally I download some third party apps and and chrome browser extension to record and playback voice. Both the internal mic and headset work perfectly.

Any idea's on how to solve this?

Most likely firewall blocking traffic. Port 14259 is mentioned online for "search by Voice"
