Exempted from the VAT - when hardware brought through school

I work in the IT department and i would like to buy a mac book for my personal use through the school.

Will i get excempted from the VAT.

 

Any sugessions much appreciated.

But you can get 10% off when you purchase a Mac at the apple store. Just bring your work ID badge and a payslip.

Your employer might be signed up to a salary sacrifice scheme for tech which might be an option too.

As a note someone asked that at my place and the finance team said no, the member of staff kicked up a fuss so we got the auditors involved and basically they said it was a big no no to buy through school without VAT and then sell to yourself as such for personal use. They summed it up as if this person did it, they would be committing fraud.
