Hitachi starBoard over ethernet

Hello folks,

 

In my company we have Hitachi starBoard and i would like to connect it over ethernet cable. Has anyone managed it to work with some long distance USB extender? My scenario looks like this: Ethernet cable from board to patch panel, patch panel to patch panel and patch panel to comp. Here is a picture to get it clear

Electrostatic pen driven, or light driver? They are very picky about what usb-cat5 cable adapters you use. They must not be the ‘active’ type. If you get one that works reliably, then the cable length will be the critical factor, the patch panel (if cabling and termination is within defined tolerances). e-instruction
