I'm hoping that someone can shed light on the following.

Last week I could see all 18 waps but now only 12 are showing in the Dell, Virtual controller. All WAPs are plugged in ALL lights are green and steady.

Active faults show:

Hi FN-GM,

The access points are Aruba but labelled Dell. The WAPs pick up random ip addresses themselves, not static so at the moment I don't know what address they had before they dropped out.

That's an idea Clive. I will have to investigate how to actually access them. They were set up by an outside company a few years ago. I assume it's simply plugging into the 'console' port on the back as opposed to the ENET?

If they are all connected to the same switch you could access the switches interface and configure them that way. Even though it says they are down you should still be able to connect to them this way, or your way.

can you connect to the ap via wifi?

should get you the web inteface, if not replace the url with the IP, though they will try to redirect to the controller assuming they behave like aruba instants?

ive had this before when the AP's get into different firmware levels if an update fails - this can be fixed by resetting the ap using the reset button thought its a bit of a fiddly thing to get to work

Hi all, thanks for your help yesterday. It all turned out to be related to a broken link between a switch along the line. I appreciate the quick responses as I work alone and it's good to be able to bounce ideas with other people.:D
