snagrat Posted February 22, 2018 Posted February 22, 2018 We have an old CC4 system which is due to be replaced soon. I am trying to deploy a background image to users. It appears to work as in the path of the image is being set but the users only get a solid background colour. If I go into Personalise I can see the correct image there (stored locally on c:) but it does not load. Nor is it possible to change to a different image. Anyone know of a solution to this?

If i remember rightly it is in the registry settings in the management console. We used to store the background image on the C drive and then put that path in the RMMC. It is case sensitve and i belive it has to be a tiff image but was over a year ago since i worked on a CC4 system
andyturpie Posted February 22, 2018 Posted February 22, 2018 I remember cracking this in the early days, I did have to go into AD itself and modify a policy itself, but that was nearly 5 years ago and haven't touched it since!
snagrat Posted February 22, 2018 Author Posted February 22, 2018 That’s the thing, I can see the setting applying but the image just doesn’t load. Might try a different format and see if that helps
bald_pig Posted February 22, 2018 Posted February 22, 2018 Is your background in the right format? Windows can be funny about file formats and sizes.
snagrat Posted February 22, 2018 Author Posted February 22, 2018 The same image can be used as a local admin as the background image without issue
Shadow_Walker Posted February 22, 2018 Posted February 22, 2018 The same image can be used as a local admin as the background image without issue Try and navigate to the path from a workstation once it is logged in. Could be a permission error.
snagrat Posted February 22, 2018 Author Posted February 22, 2018 Can navigate and open the bmp without issue
andyturpie Posted February 23, 2018 Posted February 23, 2018 Ours are .bmp and we have a different coloured background for each user type so we can easily identify from a distance if someone is using an account they shouldn't. Any updates are pushed out by creating a package with the filenames being identical.
