@MS2011 That depends on what the Finance Manager does.

 

If the finance manager is responsible for personal data, eg Payroll data, then there’s a clear conflict of interest, so the answer has to be no. My husband is a finance manager in business that goes nowhere near personal data, so technically would be OK assuming he undertook appropriate training.

And any idea where they got that advice from?

 

Not a clue officially... I can only *assume* its something they've decided based on the advice that it can't be IT, It shouldn't be a BM and as we are a federation it would make her a one-stop DP shop for the whole fed which simplifies structure.
