Gongalong Posted February 2, 2018 Posted February 2, 2018 Hi folks, I know the Linx tablets get a mixed reception, but are there any recommendations for these, or other c. £200 Windows tablets? Equally, any to absolutely avoid? Thanks
LeMarchand Posted February 2, 2018 Posted February 2, 2018 I have an older Linx, and the battery life is appalling (and always has been). Build quality not great either. That said, if it's for personal use and the price is right I'd go for it. I'm still pleased with mine (especially as I got it new for around £40) and it's still in daily use - mainly for email/news feeds at breakfast and bedtime ebook reading, but it's done everything I've expected of it. If for school, I'd wait to see if anyone has more recent experience. 1
Gongalong Posted February 2, 2018 Author Posted February 2, 2018 Previously I've seen mention of issues with build quality, and also difficulties with imaging. I can imagine the 32GB version is frustrating, because of the lack of disk space. We have one 64GB Linx 10 used by our Site Team, which was a bit tedious to setup with the latest build of Win 10 (driver issues), but doesn't look that different from the LearnPad Workbooks we have, and it was sub-£150 ex. VAT. I wouldn't expect tablets to last much past 3 years, but interested to know if there's anything better out there?
LeMarchand Posted February 8, 2018 Posted February 8, 2018 I've recently been asked to source more Miix 320s https://www3.lenovo.com/gb/en/laptops/ideapad/miix-series/-Miix-320/p/88IPMX30837- so they must be pleased with them. You can get the 64GB models for around £200. PITA to image, but do-able and they seem to last all day on an overnight charge. 1
XiJ Posted February 9, 2018 Posted February 9, 2018 Really like the miix models. Although we use the higher end at work. 1
