FWBD Posted January 31, 2018 Posted January 31, 2018 We've got a handful of Android phones in our work place which I look after and I'm trying to keep track of there whereabouts more efficiently with the use of Lightspeed MDM and Android Find My Device. Both are installed but I would like it so users can't uninstall them but can still use the rest of the functionality of the phone. I did try some apps and one called AppLock can prevent uninstalling but it also stops users from installing apps as well which isn't ideal. Has anyone else got a similar set up or a more ideal solution? I'm open to suggestions.
ellsandell Posted February 2, 2018 Posted February 2, 2018 Does Lightspeed have the Android for Work component? I have setup AFW with Airwatch which works very well in regards to locking down the device. (Can be done in Work managed or Profile managed mode)

(Can be done in Work managed or Profile managed mode) @ellsandell, You mentioned you've been using AFW with Airwatch, I've been testing this out for Android devices and have really battled to do any of the following: - Cannot load internal apps (APKs) - I've since discovered this is be design and the only way to do this is to sign up for a developer license on the play store and upload the app and then allow it - have you found a better/easier way? - Bookmarks aren't supported with AFW - I had intended to put links to 2 web apps on the home screen but haven't found a way yet. Any ideas? - Enrolling a device using AFW doesn't seem to active any form of device protection, the phones can be easily factory reset and then they're gone without a trace. Have you found any way of locking down your devices so prevent theft? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated Nick
