elsiegee40 Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 I've had accounts suspended for shill bidding this is nit illegal within the United Kingdom, even if it was no ones going to take you to court for it. The easiest way to use the ebay system is to work in teams, I have three different people who sell my items for me, they all have several ebay accounts. They build up the feedback by selling cheap items such as Mcdonalds toys, food voucher etc. After 3 months no one can tell what you have sold, these accounts are then ripe to be used for more expensive items such rare concert/football tickets etc. There is no real fraud involved, just making the most of the rules that ebay have to make your own accounts look like experienced reliable sellers. Don't panic Nick Jones, I don't sell train sets mate. I sell pre war football tickets, I've probably used over 50 different ebay accounts over the last 4-5 years, the trick is not to become attached to them. They are there to help you make money and when they get banned or bad feedback you just use a different one. I realise that most people will disagree but this hobby that I have selling tickets brings over 2 times my wages, so I'm doing something right. Shill bidding IS against eBay's rules, as is using other IDs to falsely build up good feedback. A reputable trader has no need to do this. Joanne Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 think i might have got banned for selling 'freeware'... although i stated it was freeware and that they were paying for the service of me downloading it and gathering it... they must have thought I was a 'scammer!' hmmm.... i stick to selling old t-shirts now! Or anything from the attic. Carboot sales are easier though.

Depending on what you sell ebay can be real cut throat, rival sellers leaving you bad feedback, rival sellers recking your auctions by placing high bids with new accounts etc. Any experienced seller who is keen on making a profit month after month will almost certainly have more than one account. When your selling items that are worth between 800 - 2000 uk pounds your accounts will always come under scrutiny.

Some traders legitimately get 5 figure positive feedbacks that more than cancel the few negs they get in the course of a months trading. What you are doing is despicable. I'm sorely tempted to post this thread on the eBay boards.

While I wouldn't buy from someone with 2 negs out of a total 10 feedbacks, I'd happily buy from someone with 2 in 2000 - some bad feedback is inevitable (especially if you read some of the lame reasons which some buyers give for negs). Jumping ship every time someone tarnishes your 100% is misleading and makes a total mockery of the feedback system. I note that you have some negative rep on here, actually; can we expect to see this account become dormant and a new one created next week?

And it is against a) the distance trading laws in the uk and b) against the advertising laws in the uk. ie. It is a criminal offence. And I generally buy from reputable sellers on the site, with 4 and 5 figure feedback ratings, and I doubt they have multiple accounts, so what you are saying is bull. If everyone who was behaving like you was blocked then there would be no need for your scamming.

All classic scammer excuses.. Sorry, no sympathy. You're probably the type of individual who sees nothing wrong in selling something like an items box and waiting for some hapless idiot to miss the small print and then claim all's fair in love n' war and the poor sap should have read the information more carefully.. Give me a break...

I'm sure delighted that I've been given a profile intraction thing, then funny thing all my customers that I sell to are always happy and only 3 times in over 4 years has anyone tried to take me to court, of which I have won 1, lost 1 and 1 settled before court. So I am doing something right.

You've only been taken to court 3 times? I call that a good couple of years, yep. You may be doing 'something right', but you're bloody well doing something wrong to end up in court (or near) so often.
