talksr Posted January 5, 2018 Posted January 5, 2018 (edited) Hi there, Can anyone help me on the best way to set a login screen background for all of our Windows 10 stations? We are running server 2016. Ideally, I would also like to set all of the user account pictures as our school logo. Does anyone know if this is possible easily? Thanks in advance. 3s-gtech Posted January 5, 2018 Posted January 5, 2018 Desktop background or login screen background? The login screen can be done with GP (though it can be flaky), we do desktop backgrounds with bginfo. User account pictures can be done too - that's a registry setting that's pushed out with GPP. I don't have the settings to hand atm, but all are straightforward!

I have seen it done in so many places, but have never worked out the best way to do it, but have heard from others it can be hit and miss.
NB9457 Posted January 5, 2018 Posted January 5, 2018 (edited) Our Win7 background policy is as below. Think it worked on 10 when I tested it, though I don't fully remember! Edit: This is for the user profile pic and logon background. Edited January 5, 2018 by NB9457
ricki Posted January 5, 2018 Posted January 5, 2018 You cannot use the system used with Windows 7 with Windows 10 for login screen background it does not work
3s-gtech Posted January 5, 2018 Posted January 5, 2018 You don't need to use GPP for the background - it's a GP setting (with the right ADMXs) .Requires Edu or Ent version to work. You may need to delete the original background files to force it to work (which is a right pain!) but this has improved with recent updates.
KevinB Posted January 5, 2018 Posted January 5, 2018 Using LTSB here and these are our settings for logon screen wallpaper:
