Looking For A Systems Status Page

Hi!

 

I'm looking to add a systems status page to our internal Intranet page so I'm looking for something free or Open Source.

 

I like what Cardiff University have on their website but I'm guessing it's something they've written themselves - https://status.cardiff.ac.uk/

 

Anybody here use a systems status system or do you just update a web page with text saying if there's any systems that are down?

We did it manually for a short period of time and then gave up; people paid zero attention to it whatsoever, preferring to call us.

PRTG can do custom dashboards that you can publish via web link, has a free version (100 sensors, ~20 servers' worth) if you don't need to monitor too many different services:

I'm not wanting to monitor services automatically, I'm after something similar to the one in the link I posted.

If you're manually updating the status and tick boxes just knock up a generic bootstrap-based web page? Some of those portals do use dynamic data so it updates in real-time. Reason I say the PRTG page is you can put the monitor sensors in HTML so you get best of both worlds.

Because I'm not a web developer hence why I'm looking for something that has already been created that I can either integrate in to my current site or link to etc.

Would an internal RSS Feed that you update fit the bill?

The only problem is I know pretty much nothing about Linux and all I can find are instructions like "make sure you've installed all the prerequisites" which is great if you know Linux but not so great if you have no idea!!

 

I recently installed Concrete5 (a CMS website builder) on CentOS 7 with step-by-step instructions so I think it's best to stick with CentOS 7 rather than another flavour of Linux.

 

 

I guess what I'm after now is any system status software that has instructions for CentOS 7?!

I have cachet installed on windows server 2016. Can be apache or IIS

This looks like it's for a Debian based system rather than Redhat but it looks fairly comprehensive
