[1709, fcu] 1709 UE-V ApplySettingTemplateCatalog Error

Hi All,

 

First time posting! So hopefully someone can help

 

I am having an issue setting up UE-V on win 10 edu 1709. I have been chasing my tail for the last few day to try and get some information on this error message I am getting and how to resolve it but with no luck. So has anyone here come across this issues?

 

From the event log I can see this:

 

 

"An error occurred in the ApplySettingsTemplateCatalog utility" Event ID: 1509

 

But it creates the folder in the userspace correctly but does not put any setting in the folder.

 

 

Please if anyone has any ideas it would be much appreciated as I am on a deadline to get this working before the 13th dec

I put out UEV last week and think I was getting the same problem.

 

I copied the templates from the windows 10 machine to our custom templates folder (where I have extra things like a chrome template). I then registered the templates on my test Windows 10 machine. Haven't looked into doing this en-masse. ---- Actually from reading this again you may only have to do one or other - copy to custom template share or register the templates on the computers c: drive.

 

Even though it isn’t stated anywhere in the doco, and seems quite counter-intuitive based on what’s presented in the GPO settings, the default Microsoft included templates do not automatically register on clients. These can be copied to your custom templates path, or you can register them with powershell on each machine as per Synchronizing IE Favorites with UE-V in Windows 1607 – CCMEXEC.COM – Enterprise Mobility

Being very new to UE-V and throw in the deep end! I have set all the GPOs for UE-V to point towards the template share. As this I a new VM machine do I need to register the DFS location again? Are there reg files that need to be added?

 

Sorry if I am not grasping this but like I said all very new. only started reading about this last week and picking apart what someone else has done.

Ok, presuming that you've enabled uev in group policy. Run get-uevconfiguration and get-uevstatus on the client to confirm that it is as expected.

 

Copy all the templates from c:\programdata\microsoft\uev\inboxtemplates on the client to your template share.

 

Restart, logon, test etc and see where you're at.

Looking in PowerShell with the Get-UevConfiguration read correctly with it all point to the correct shares and the storage path is also correct and it creating the folder but unfortunately, I am still getting the same error and no XML being stored in the %homesage%\SettingPackage location Edited December 11, 2017 by Maxamoth

If you run get-uevtemplate on the client do you get any templates back?

I think I have found what the problem was. After moving some of the GPOs from User GPO to Computer GPO the machines were not able to write to the DFS share. I added the computer AD group to that share and it all seems to be working.
